Be a Channel for Unity

If the message is oneness, then the time is now. As Bishop Jack Bomar says, “The call is for all of us. The heart of humankind is open to hear it even as it leads us to something greater, something more expansive.”

Bomar devotes his ministry to serving as a conduit through which we collectively foster a greater sense of self-awareness, spiritual enlightenment and God-consciousness. His message is always, at its heart, oneness, and his hope is always to encourage people of diverse backgrounds to transcend differences, bridge communication gaps and build a coalition that leads to the achievement of a common purpose: a unified and loving community.

Bomar's goal in his ministry is to hear, understand and discern the call of the Universe. “We have to be that channel for unity, just as we must cease to reside in separation,” he says in the June 2022 Science of Mind magazine.

It is this message he will bring to the Celebrate Our Soul Conference in August, where he will be a keynote speaker. “This conference is an opportunity to recognize, acknowledge and affirm the  contributions and impact of the legends within New Thought and to honor their legacy,” he says. “What this means to African Americans within New Thought is that we are acknowledged and affirmed and embraced.”

Honoring Our Fallen

By the spring of 1865, the U.S. Civil War claimed more lives than any conflict in our history. Later that decade, Americans in towns and cities across the country began holding springtime tributes to these countless fallen soldiers, decorating their graves in newly established national cemeteries.

While it is unclear exactly where this tradition began, some records show one of the earliest Memorial Day commemorations was organized by a group of formerly enslaved people in Charleston, South Carolina, less than a month after the Confederacy surrendered.

Today Memorial Day is set aside as the day on which we mourn those who have given their lives in service to our country. This year, as you mark the day with family gatherings, picnics and celebrations, please consider joining the national moment of remembrance that happens each year on Memorial Day at 3 p.m. local time.

The Healing Presence Within You

There is a Healing Presence within you. This Healing Presence you must recognize before It can operate for you because, like every other thing in nature, It works according to exact and mechanical law.

The God within you has already created this marvelous mechanism, which you call your human body. The Intelligence that designed and projected this body must have a perfect knowledge of all its parts, must have a perfect understanding of all its needs and must be able to rebuild those parts and supply their needs.

The Creative Agency within you knows how to re-create. But this Healing Presence, being the very essence of your own nature, must flow out into action through your consciousness of who and what you are. Hence you must recognize the Great Healer, the Divine Emancipator from physical bondage and pain, as your true spirit.

Since the only final Creative Agency in the universe must be Mind, and since you are Mind, it follows that this Healing Presence performs Its beneficent act through your consciousness. This is why you have always been told to believe. …

You must believe in the Healing Presence within you and within all people, and then you must speak your word in such a way that this Healing Presence may, as It flows through that word, perform the miracle of life, which is the giving of form to the invisible. …

The only way this Healing Presence can create for you is through the images of your thought, through the beliefs you entertain, whether these beliefs be hope, fear, doubt, faith or failure. Therefore, you must correct all beliefs that deny this Healing Presence. In fact you must go so far as to deny any negative agencies and to affirm that the Life Principle within you not only destroys all fear in your mind but dissolves every object of fear in your physical body.

If you succeed in healing your thought, then this Healing Presence will heal your body.
