Our Imagination and Our Will
“New arts, new sciences, new philosophies, better government and a higher civilization wait on our thoughts. The infinite energy of Life, and the possibility of our future evolution, work through our imagination and will. The time is ready, the place is where we are now, and it is done unto all as they really believe and act.”

A Journey of Faith
Fans of “Jeopardy!” and followers of Alex Trebek were stung by the news a year ago, when Trebek announced his diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Throughout the ensuing months, millions tracked his journey, each praying in a unique way for his cure.
His wife, Jean, a Science of Mind practitioner, reveals in the January 2020 issue of Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine her foundation of deep faith, which sustains them both through his healing journey. Her affirmation from the beginning — “God’s got this!” — demonstrates her profound belief in the power of faith.
She explains: “My responsibility is not personally to make healing happen. God does the healing. My job is to use affirmative prayer to see beyond the appearance of imperfection and to focus on the truth of divine wholeness. …
“Beyond an experience of physical disease, each person is still and always a perfect expression of Spirit. My job is to know this truth and to stay neutral and detached, not to judge. We are there for each other but we are not each other’s only resource. A Higher Power guides and sustains each of us. We only have to call on it. The appearance of imperfection is not the true reality. Wholeness is the true reality, and by seeing wholeness we allow it to be revealed.”
Three spiritual principles empower Jean along her healing journey with Alex:
- The past is not precedent.
- With God all things are possible.
- Love heals all.

Getting Grounded
— by Kelly Robbins, RScP
I realize the infinite oneness that is God. That ever-present substance that composes all people, all places, all things. This energy of God shows up in the most natural and organic ways. From the Earth at its very core to the tiniest of atoms in the universe that we are not even aware of yet. I know from the center of my being God is the foundation of all things. …
I feel intimately and strongly connected to all. I experience a confidence and a strength in this knowing. As I recognize and feel what it means to know the qualities of being grounded in God, I experience the qualities of power, love, freedom, peace and joy. And I know that I am one with the intangible essence of unadulterated love. I know I am safe. I know all is well. …
I give deep and incredible thanks to know these truths as I release this word to the Law. I know without a shadow of a doubt that as these words are spoken, it is done. And so it is.

A Day On — In Service To Our Communities
On January 20, 2020, Americans will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This day of service celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
Dr. King once said, “Everyone can be great because everybody can serve.” Observing MLK Day of Service is a way to begin the year with a commitment to making our communities better places. Such service honors Dr. King’s life, while helping meet community challenges.
On Monday, January 20, and every other day, we ask that you consider Dr. King’s words: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” |
