Heaven Begins With Us
Each month, Dr. Rocco A. Errico offers a thoughtful look at the “Light from the Language of Jesus” in Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine. Dr. Errico is an ordained minister, international lecturer and author, spiritual counselor and one of the leading Biblical scholars working from the original Aramaic Peshitta texts.
In the June magazine, Dr. Errico describes how Jesus of Nazareth went beyond religious thought or dogma. His aim, Dr. Errico says, “was to awaken and stimulate all the good and innate powers in people.”
Jesus, he says, “embraced and revealed the soul and spirit of what is genuinely sacred in the human mind and heart.”
Based on the teachings and example set by Jesus, we can see that legislation alone cannot create a just and compassionate society. “It must begin with and in the heart and mind of every individual,” Dr. Errico says. “People create a just society or a violent one. Jesus knew this, and that is why his call went out that the Counsel of Heaven had drawn near. His entire ministry was to draw out the innate spiritual forces and powers that reside in people.
“Heaven begins with us; it doesn’t come from outside of us. We were born with the powers of heaven and can make earthly societies heaven here and now.”

Where Will Your Anger Guide You?
As we look around us, we find virtually countless reasons for righteous anger. We see people suffering the ravages of poverty and violence. We witness acts of cruelty. We even watch as Mother Nature takes back her own.
How we use that anger defines our impact on our world. In her book “Sister Outsider,” Audre Lorde includes an essay about the uses for anger. She writes that anger is “not a shortcoming to be denied, but a creative force that tells us when something is wrong.”
Writer Austin Channing Brown expands on anger as a creative force, writing, “Every woman has a well-stocked arsenal of anger potentially useful against those oppressions, personal and institutional, which brought that anger into being. Focused with precision, it can become a powerful source of energy serving progress and change.”
Brown suggests that anger can be used as a tool to make our vision a reality, it can be a “strengthening act of clarification,” she says. “Anger is not inherently destructive. My anger can be a force for good. It can be creative and imaginative, seeing a better world that doesn’t yet exist.”

Celebrate Gay Pride Month
“I believe that no one should ever have to choose between a career we love and living our lives with authenticity and integrity,” says Out & Equal Executive Director Selisse Berry. Gay Pride Month, celebrated each June, gives us pause to consider how we honor the authenticity and integrity of each individual.
This month we honor our LGBTQI community and the consciousness we share. We lift up those who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS while we recognize our fellow travelers in all the beautiful and diverse ways they exist. |

The Spirit of the Almighty Goes Before Me
— by Dr. Ernest Holmes
I know that the Power of Good is an underlying principle of the universe and that it is a manifestation of Mother-Father God. I know that God is All-Good. I know that Good underlies all manifestation of thought and form because Good is harmony, complete balance. Good is at the root of all manifestation, regardless of its seeming absence.
I know that this Good is the basic principle of my existence; that which I am is Good. It is the vital, living Force that supports my every thought and deed when they are in harmony with It.
Today I uncover the perfection within me. In its fullness I reveal the indwelling kingdom. I look out upon the world of my affairs, knowing that the Spirit within me makes my way both immediate and easy. I know there is nothing in me that could possibly obstruct or withhold the divine circuit of Life and Love, which Good is.
My word dissolves every negative thought or impulse that could throw a shadow over my perfection. Good flows through me to all. Good shines through my thoughts and actions. Good harmonizes my body, so that it is revitalized and manifests perfection in every cell, in every organ, in every function. Good harmonizes my mind, so that Love sings joyously in my heart, and I am completely conscious of All-Good in me, around me and in all that is.
I am in complete unity with my Good.
