Our Evolution, Our Time
Look at any headline, any news story, any social media post. What you’ll see, suggests Temple Hayes, is that “we can be the answer to every request. New Thought is the answer, New Thought has the solution, we can hold the space that would eliminate a child from dying from hunger or a community dying from a lack of clean water or an individual suffering in an addictive family.
“New Thought is the formula.”
Hayes is the spiritual leader at First Unity Spiritual Campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is a shaman, a rebel, an internationally recognized leader who serves on the Leadership Council of the Association of Global New Thought. And she graces the cover of Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine’s June 2017 issue.
There’s little question that this is a powerful time in our country and the world. People are engaged, people are involved, people want their voices heard. To them, Hayes offers this quote: “To wish upon a star is progress. To know you are a star is evolution.”
She adds, “The time has come to accept that we are the star theology needed in the world. We are the star wanting to be birthed now. We are the answer, period.”
On the first anniversary of the Orlando shooting, Temple Hayes will be joined by world-renowned experts to discuss health, wellness and spirituality in the LBGTQ community. You Are the Key
Each month, Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine offers a prayer to inspire our readers. In the June issue, Rev. Jyoti DeVernie, senior minister and spiritual director at Center for Spiritual Living Boulder Valley in Lafayette, Colorado, offers this inspiration:
“Knowing that it is done unto me as I believe, I give thanks that, as surely as summer follows spring, the Creative Law is already manifesting what I have called forth. I am grateful that even though I don’t know how all of this is coming about, the Law has all the intelligence and resources to make it so, and It is doing so right now and going forward on my behalf.
“My part is to speak my word with conviction and trust. God’s part is to manifest what I have called forth, and so I joyfully release and let go so that the Law can work Its magic. It is done!
“And so it is.” |

Celebrating the Remembrance That Is Memorial Day
Ahh, Memorial Day weekend. The start of summer. The harbinger of vacations and time spent with family and friends. You may already have a barbecue, camping trip or a quick weekend away planned.
Jeanne Sager, who writes Cafe Mom, says, “America, please don't disappoint me. You know why most of us have Monday off, don't you? So we can actually honor those who have died in all American wars? The brave who gave their lives so that we may live in the land of the free?”
She offers some tips on making sure this Memorial Day is also a remembrance of all those who’ve fought for the values our country holds dear. Some of her suggestions include:
- Attend a parade. What an easy way to honor our veterans while enjoying time with our families.
- Share a photo of your beloved fallen service member on social media. Share his or her story, as a way to honor and remember.
- Pause for the National Moment of Remembrance. In 2000, Congress created the National Moment to honor our troops. At 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, every American is asked to pause for just one minute to honor our fallen.

Master Your Own Thinking
— Ernest Holmes
You must become the master of your own thinking. This is the only way you can realize freedom and joy. Therefore, you will have to turn your thoughts away from lack, want and limitation, and let them dwell on good. Make yourself do this. Learn to think about what you wish to become. …
To understand that our faith is operated on by a natural law gives us the key to the situation. But it isn’t enough just to believe in a principle. This is only the starting point. Principles have to be used if they are going to produce definite results for us, and whether the principles are physical, mental or spiritual makes no difference. …
When you believe that God is all there is, and when you have implicit confidence in the Law of Good, and when you use this belief for a definite purpose, then something will happen. And the reason why it happens is that you are surrounded by a creative power, a creative mind or a creative principle — whatever you choose to call it. You are surrounded by such a creative power which actually does operate on your thinking.
This is the key to the whole situation.
