Carry the Vision: Season for Nonviolence

Season for Nonviolence

The Gandhi King Season for Nonviolence is a grassroots awareness campaign, an outgrowth of the passion and creative expression of spiritual and civic-minded individuals and communities worldwide. Like Science of Mind, the vision for this endeavor is a world that works for everyone, carried forth by the proactive, life-enhancing philosophy of nonviolent action. Its purpose is to focus educational and media attention on the philosophy of attaining peace through nonviolent action.

The Season for Nonviolence represents a successful new model, called “omni-local” conscious action which is achieved by engaging large numbers of self-empowered leaders and groups in a collective intention, supplied with strategic sharable tools, adding their own local resources to work globally with singular purpose.

The Season for Nonviolence, which will begin January 30 and run through April 4, encompasses efforts in more than 900 cities across the United States and 67 countries during the past 20 years. The educational and community action campaign uses nonviolence to “build a community that honors the dignity and worth of every human being.”

Please join the community on January 30 for a special Amplifield Audio Broadcast. Dr. Barbara Fields (AGNT) and Todd Goldfarb (amplifield.com) will host an unprecedented gathering of the leaders of the New Thought movement to discuss the Gandhi King Season for Nonviolence 20th Anniversary and the mission of Engaged Spirituality in the world today. Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith (Agape) joins Jim Blake (CEO of Unity World headquarters at Unity Village) and Rev. Donna Johnson (President and CEO, Unity Worldwide Ministries), Dr. Kathy Hearn (former Spiritual Leader of Centers for Spiritual Living), Dr. David Goldberg (Publisher & Editor of Science of Mind Magazine), and The Reverend Dr. Sheila McKeithen, first elected president of the Universal Foundation for Better Living.

The January 30 broadcast will be available at www.amplified.com.

Flow Equals Grow

“One of the most important gifts I have ever received on my spiritual path was an understanding of the flow, also known as circulation,” says Rev. Emile Gauvreau. He first heard about flow in terms of what we give to others, but he came to realize that “what we as spiritual beings are always circulating is energy. It is moving everywhere in every moment.”

Young Plants Growing

As we move into our New Year, filled with hope and resolution, Gauvreau suggests this might be the time for inner work, prayer and meditation. “You and I are dynamic energy transformers,” he says, “and to grow, we must actively participate in the movement of energy.”

He suggests asking yourself these questions: Am I supporting myself by actively participating in the flow of abundance in the universe? Am I supporting my spiritual community by including them in my circulation of time, talent, treasure, love and appreciation? As I waking each day with the intention of being a beneficial presence on the planet?

Five Daily Habits That Will Change Your Life

Improve Your Routine

In a Goalcast post, Thibaut Meurisse suggests five daily habits that can bring extraordinary results over a long period of time. These five habits take only about 5 minutes a day.

The habits Meurisse suggests may seem deceptively simple. The key, he says, consistency.

The five habits are:

  1. Set daily goals.
  2. Review your goals each day.
  3. Practice gratitude.
  4. Prime your mind at the beginning of the day.
  5. Meditate.

Fundamental Principle to Understand Life
—Ernest Holmes

Cosmic Energy image

The first principle fundamental to an understanding of life, including all human experience, is that the whole universe, of which man is a part, is spiritual in its essence. This fact may be more readily understood if we speak of this spiritual essence as mental in its nature; the two terms spiritual and mental are synonymous in their meaning.

Stated in the simplest way, this means that a Cosmic energy and intelligence is the creative power of all that exists. This power must be an eternal, unitary life principle underlying and interpenetrating all phenomenal manifestations, so that all that exists in our objective world — whether mineral, animal or human — is in reality not only a creation of the One Principle, but in fact and truth must be a manifestation or incarnation of this Principle.

In other words, the world we know, including ourselves and all mankind, is not separated from the original creative source, but ever remains in the One Unitary Essence as a particularized identity or aspect of It.

This is an excerpt of “Religious Science Fundamentals,” written by spiritual visionary Dr. Ernest Holmes and further excerpted in the January issue of Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine.
