The Law of Giving & Receiving
—Ernest Holmes
Jesus said, “Give and it shall be given unto you.” This is the law of life. We should give of ourselves in love and in service to others, in a spirit of generosity and good fellowship. To refuse to give is to refuse to receive, for everything moves in circles. And real giving is the givingness of the self. A kind word, a thoughtful act, perhaps just a smile, can help lighten the burdens of life and fulfill the Law of Good.
We are all parts of each other, because the same God is in each of us, wearing a different face. God is the creator of all, in all, and through all, and we are the family of all. No individual can live unto his or herself alone. We can only live unto God and unto each other. On this pathway alone is there freedom, joy and completion. As sure as the eternal circuits of God follow this course, so shall those who give all, receive all.
