Recognizing the Joy in Life
“Let’s agree to understanding something,” says Kenn Gordon in the September issue of GUIDE FOR SPIRITUAL LIVING: SCIENCE OF MIND magazine. “You don’t create joy, you recognize it.” Living in joy is a choice, Gordon says. Being aware of the everyday joys that often get overlooked is the first step. Take a moment now to list five everyday joys in your life. Look at the list first thing when you get up in the morning and last thing before you go to sleep. Focusing on joy will create more of it in your life. Guaranteed. That’s the Law of Attraction at work. |

Improve Communication with the 20-20 Rule
Got a big conflict you’re trying to solve? Get everybody in the conversation to adhere to the 20-20 Rule: Speak no longer than 20 seconds (about 20 to 30 words). Then listen deeply. This simple technique could help you solve problems in a quarter of the time it normally takes.
Read more about the 20-20 Rule & the 10-10 Speaking Game in the August issue. |

I Accept Divine Guidance
—Ernest Holmes
If God is our creator and our refuge, why is it that we refuse to avail ourselves of this divine security? It appears that we cannot experience the action of God in our lives until we first turn to God, until we embody those things which are of the nature of God.
We cannot experience love while we hate. Neither can be enjoy peace while we remain confused. If we would enjoy harmony in our relationships and affairs, we must first become that harmony, which is the very essence of the Divine. This is the seeming mystery of the infinite, invisible, essence which surrounds us. It will support us and guide us only as we first turn to it and accept it.
Today I trust in divine guidance. I rely upon God’s wisdom to make straight my way, perfecting and harmonizing every situation in my life. My belief is in this divine security, and I know that all is not only very well with me and my affairs, but also very well with those with whom I associate.
I let my words and acts part of God’s nature, knowing that that which is accepted in my mind is reflected in my life. “Act as though I am, and I will be.” The everlasting arms of God support, sustain and guide me through this day and every day.
