Saying Goodbye To A Spiritual Hero
Maya Angelou
It is with great sadness that we learned of the transition of our 2014 Spiritual Hero, Dr. Maya Angelou. We at Science of Mind magazine celebrate and say “Thank You” for this phenomenal woman. Always gracious, Angelou wrote a letter to our publishing business administrator, Alan Hubbard, after her story appeared in our January issue. It reads in part:
“Dear Mr. Hubbard and Friends, I am a loyal and delighted reader of Science of Mind magazine and a student of the philosophy and the writings, in particular, of Mr. Ernest Holmes.
My heart was lifted when I found I had been chosen as a Spiritual Hero of the Year for your magazine … My prayer is with Science of Mind that you will continue to reach people who stand in need for your hope, your work and your clarity. JOY!” Maya Angelou

Wayne Dyer & Ernest Holmes
Dr. Wayne Dyer, who shares insights on the three ways to enlightenment in our June cover story, has been a spiritual mentor to millions. But who does he turn to? Science of Mind magazine was thrilled to learn that the teachings of Dr. Ernest Holmes have inspired Dyer for years. “I have been hugely impacted by the writings and teachings of Ernest Holmes,” Dyer said during his interview. In 2013, Science of Mind named Wayne Dyer “Spiritual Hero of the Year.” It was the first thing he talked about when he greeted our writer. “You’re talking to your Spiritual Hero,” he offered, laughing, and then later added, “Ernest Holmes is my spiritual hero.” Fully embracing the principles defined by Holmes, Dyer talks to Science of Mind about his one consistent prayer — to find his highest self, the place within that is God. |
