A Prayer for Our Planet

In these times, our hearts are aware of the many challenges that face our planet. With an awareness of the conditions across the globe such as violence in Syria and Washington D.C., flooding in Mexico and Colorado, civil strife and environmental devastation in Africa and beyond, it can feel overwhelming. However, we are called to the truth of a higher consciousness and the power of prayer. We are open to learn from any experience and see through the circumstances to embrace the possibilities.

The state of Colorado has been engulfed in flooding unlike any the state has known before. The toll of the flood takes in about 4,500 square miles—about the size of Connecticut. In the Native American tradition, the continent of North America is seen as Turtle Island, and the Rocky Mountains are considered the spine of the turtle. In this beautiful metaphor, one can visualize the heart chakra located where that state of Colorado lies. This beating heart has messages for humanity, as do the voices around the globe which call us to inspired action and consciousness.

Let God Do It

In the Colorado Rockies there is a beautiful valley from which many fountains gush forth. Each fountain is different, more water comes from some than from others, but there is only one body of water at a deep, subterranean level which flows through each one of them.

Each fountain is supplied from one body of water, and the water that gushes through each has a pressure within itself that causes it to flow upward with an irresistible force. This may be likened to our own spiritual natures. We as individuals each have our own thoughts, feelings, hopes, aspirations, and desires, and each is directly and intimately connected with the one Divine Life, Energy, and Power.

Each of us is a fountain of Life. There is a God-pressure back of each one of us, a Life-force seeking outlet through our thoughts and acts. There are many fountains, many individuals, but only one God-pressure back of all.

There can be neither limitation nor lack in the One Perfect Activity. It is in full operation in and for all.

The same power that is the power of Nature is the power of Mind. We activate the power of consciousness—the fountain of Life—knowing that there is no limit to the creative energy that can heal the body, the planet, and our world. We embrace the opportunity to demonstrate this power as we join together in prayer for our beautiful world, knowing that the same creativity and imagination that created our planet can be harnessed to rebuild the broken places, making them stronger than before. We also know that any conditions created by a consciousness of fear, limitation, or ignorance can be healed with an evolving consciousness of peace, oneness, and love.  As God in Action, we know that there is no limitation to what can be accomplished. We commit to a generosity of spirit as we make a difference wherever we can. There is no stopping the power of love.
