I enter into Its peace and am secure in Its protection.

Peace is at the center of my being.

Where Is the Happiest Kingdom on Earth?  Lisa Napoli Knows

The magical land of Bhutan is nestled high in the Himalayas between China and India. Violent storms rolling off the surrounding mountains gave the country its Bhutanese name, Druk Yul,  which translates “Land of the Thunder Dragon.” For centuries, the tiny country was cut off from the outside world and fiercely guarded its ancient traditions. It had no paved streets until the1960s, was closed to tourism until the 1970s, and became a two-party parliamentary democracy after elections in 2008. The country garnered the world’s attention in 1972 when King Jigme Singye Wangchuck coined the term “gross national happiness” as a symbol of the country’s commitment to developing a unique economy based on Buddhist spiritual values. Often referred to as the last Shangri-La, the mystic of Bhutan has appealed to many travelers and spiritual seekers.
